The department of cardiovascular functional explorations at Louis Pradel hospital, in Lyon, France is an exploratory platform including three accessible units for ambulatory examinations (diagnostic or recourse) or performed in day hospitals or conventional hospitalization:
- The laboratory of adult echocardiography specializes in the realization of trans-thoracic, trans-esophageal ultrasound, stress test ultrasound and with infusion of dobutamine. Being one of the most important centers in the region (more than 13,000 examinations per year), in direct collaboration with the reference centers for rare diseases, the laboratory is recognized in terms of expertise and innovation, and able to implement advanced techniques such as 3D ultrasound, study of myocardial deformations for early detection of certain heart diseases. It’s also solicited for the assessment of feasibility and then support of interventional actions such as repair of percutaneous valves,
- The service of stress tests with or without measurement of V02 max (maximum volume of oxygen consumed by the body),
- The functional cardiovascular rehabilitation service.

The department of Vascular Neurology at Pierre Wertheimer Hospital is dedicated to the emergency management of stroke (IS). Admission is strictly made after a call from the SAMU, general practitioners or emergency services to the on-call neurologist (24 hours a day).
The service includes 35 beds, 12 of which are intensive care units. The emergency department receives patients suffering from a stroke (ischemic or hemorrhagic) or transient ischemic attack (TIA). The treatments (thrombolysis, thrombectomy) implemented in patients are intended for cerebral reperfusion.
